Get started with Canonical Data MeshΒΆ

Note

This page is a placeholder; the tutorial is planned but not yet written.

This tutorial will take you through a first, complete deployment of the Canonical Data Mesh on a single host, ending with a real dataset visible in a Superset chart and discoverable in the DataHub catalog.

Planned outline:

  1. Set up the environment (Juju, Kubernetes, and machine clouds).

  2. Deploy the Canonical Data Mesh charms, configure, and integrate them.

  3. Create a source database and expose it as a Trino catalog.

  4. Grant access with a Ranger policy.

  5. Query the data in Superset and build a first chart.

  6. Find the dataset, its schema, and its lineage in DataHub.

  7. Clean up.
